the verdict....the boy in the stripped pyjamas

oh my god...there have been a lot of movies about germany and the second world war and about auscwartz and the concentration camps too, but, this one is the stronges...maybe because its war from a child's perspecttive but it manages to capture the essence of the era...the sad end was kind of predicted but it would have been pleasant to see a happy end of it all...i guess its wadching too many bollywood movies now-a-days that always has happy endings...but long story short, this is an amazing movie...very gloomy and quiet but the story is gripping till the end...people with weak hearts might want to keep an extra box of tissues because this one is going to force them to want some.

a view of the drawing room and the stepped wall....all the furniture is designed exclusively for the project

family holiday cottage....hard work.....

the formal drawing room will not be that formal after all...the holiday cottage shall mostly have family and friends as guests and so it is not very different from the theme of the rest of the home...the space is very informally designed and is seperated from the lounge area through a stepped wall...this acts as a semi-previous barrier between the informal and the formal spaces...this kind of design makes the drawing and the living a very big amalgamated space for the entire family.
the morning view of the family lounge...it gives a feel of sitting in the open, with the wooden deck like island created for the family sitting, finished with a zebra rug and a stone wall...the living space is the most used space in holiday cottages and so is very comfortable with ample and different types of sitting for everyone...in the rear is the formal drawing room.

final interior work.....quiet happy

the family lounge area is basically for the family and as this is a holiday cottage in the country-side, the interior of the lounge area is inspired from the outdoor....the wooden islands for the family sitting and for the home theatre and for the kids to play their Play stations are both finished in the outdoor porch look...the wall on which the home-theatre is mounted is stone clad to further accentuate the sense of outdoor and holiday, in almost a comp like feel...
